This erf was sold for the first time in 1862 — one of the older erven on the block. In 1875 the Delport family from the De Rust area bought the erf for a town house. The house was probably built shortly afterwards. In 1946 the house was bought by Mr. J H J le Roux, the owner of the neighbouring Le Roux Town House.

This house is a beautiful example of the much simpler style which was popular in the first Ostrich Feather Boom period. Many of the original Victorian features are still visible, i.e. the walls of beautifully dressed sandstone, the sash windows, the double doors with fanlights which exit onto a verandah which almost surrounds the house as well as the wooden shutters.

The current owners bought the house in 2013. Some much needed renovations were done at the time and the house now serves as an antique dealer’s business which suits the style of the house perfectly.
